Pyramids or Mummies?

Students have been working hard on a poster in small groups as a culminating activity for our study of Ancient Egypt. They were given a series of topics and had the opportunity to choose which topic interested them. They used classroom resources and websites to research and "dig deeper" on their topic. The emphasis was on finding new information that was not in our class textbook. Students were engaged in finding new facts and challenged to find at least 10 facts that the class might not know.

To gather their research, students used a shared google document so that they could collaborate even outside of class time. Then they identified the new facts and discussed how to present this visually on a poster so that they could share with the rest of the class. The tactile process of creating pyramids and drawing mummies was very engaging to students.
